Some people can shake
Some people can shake off stress just like this, but most of us can’t. Our body’s response to stress is destructive and the effects can be felt and seen. The immediate response may be of internal nature. An example would be an increased level of our heart rate. An external sign of stress could be cold sweat and increased color in our faces.
Most people affected by stress do not know that the stress response of the body is meant to protect and support us. This process is often referred to as the “fight or flight response.” An increased heart rate is preparing the body to respond to a threat. Our ancestors responded to stressful events already in this fashion. Thousands of years later today, when we face a situation that is full of stress (challenge, threat), our body automatically goes into overdrive and protective mode, engaging the stress response process. Immediately, the body releases the same hormones that enabled already the cave people to move and think faster, hit even harder, invoke better vision, and hear better than they could only a few seconds earlier.
Most modern stress, however, does not call for a fight or flight response.

Devote an entry to each
Devote an entry to each person in your family and wedding party. Tell something fun about them, something special about them. Be sure to tell why they are part of your life.

I truly think gift giving is
I truly think gift giving is an art form. I also think that I have gotten it down to a science. Most of the time when I have the opportunity to give a gift, I already know the person well enough to know exactly what to give them. However, what do you do when you have no clue what to give that person, like when you are going to the wedding of two people who are upwardly mobile and seem to already have everything? Here are some suggestions for you.
Find out if that person is a part of a fraternity or a sorority. If they are, then find out about the fraternity or sorority. Most of them will have special colors or animals that are associated with them. You can’t go wrong if you get them something that is associated with their fraternity or sorority.
Think about what they do for a living and get them something that they can use on a day-to-day basis. For example when my friend graduated from law school, I got him a mug that pictured some men wearing his fraternity’s colors.

Myriad focuses on oncology

SALT LAKE CITY — Myriad Pharmaceuticals Inc. has announced several initiatives to focus the company’s efforts on its oncology pipeline and conserve its financial resources to extend its projected cash runway beyond 2013.
The strategy includes expansion of the Azixa clinical program to incorporate a two-armed temozolomide combination study for the treatment of glioblastoma multiforme; further advancement of the company’s orally bioavailable Hsp90 inhibitor, MPC-3100; the designation of MPC-9528, a novel Nampt inhibitor, as an investigational new drug candidate; suspension of its HIV maturation program for strategic business reasons; and a workforce reduction.
Myriad, which says that it plans to continue to seek partners for all of its preclinical and clinical programs, has reduced its head count by 21 employees, which when combined with attrition results in a total reduction of 30 employees since July 1, 2009.
“Over the last six years, Myriad Pharmaceuticals has generated a deep pipeline of oncology assets,” comments Myriad chief executive officer Adrian Hobden.
“After conducting an exhaustive review of our development portfolio and business operations,” he states, “we have decided to refocus our clinical efforts on oncology, where we believe we can maximize the return on our investments.”

New kit to keep train fabric clean

East Midlands Trains has promised cleaner trains after taking delivery of a new piece of state-of-the-art cleaning equipment.
The Derby operator now has a Hydromaster cleaning machine to help clean carpets and seat covers of trains used to operate its local services.
The new machine will be used at the company’s Eastcroft Depot, in Nottingham, where about 28 trains are cleaned, refuelled and inspected every night.
Dave Penney, depot manager, said: “This machine uses a high pressure jet of steam to loosen any dirt, followed by a powerful vacuum to remove the dirt and water. It can even remove tar and chewing gum.”

They are both twelve years
They are both twelve years of age and have known each other since primary school. This friend also stopped at our house for her evening meal and while at the dining table, eating her food, she started up quite an interesting conversation. She asked my step-daughter if she would be interested in joining her to take part in a survey which would be about the subject of childrens banking.
I started to ask this girl, who is called Emma, what would be involved. Emma replied that a lady would be going round to her house on Saturday morning and would be asking her a series of questions about banking, for example who she banks with and how much money she attempts to save as a twelve year old.
